The technology has been approved by JEDEC (International Association for Semiconductor Industry Standardization) as an official specification of UFS 4.0, the next generation flash memory standard, and will be open to the whole industry after UFS 4.0 is put into production.

It is reported that Xiaomi'S FBO technology can effectively avoid the performance degradation of mobile phones after long-term use, and the read and write performance recovers as new. After four years of simulated use, the read and write speed decreases by nearly 0%.

According to a long-term test by Xiaomi's r&d engineers, a new Mi 12S Ultra can achieve a read speed of 1900MB/s. After more than four years of simulation use, the read speed will be reduced to 400MB/s. When THE FBO refresh storage function takes effect, the read speed will recover to 1900MB/s, which is close to a brand new phone.
