Sony’s new sensor or named IMX989: nearly 1 inch

Today, a digital blogger posted that a new 50-megapixel sensor of Sony IMX9 series will be launched, probably named IMX989, and has a super bottom of nearly 1 inch, this sensor must be the flagship booking product of the year.

However, taking into account the current inventory factors, IMX989 sensor should not appear too early and is expected to be available only in the second half of this year. The new machine equipped with the sensor may appear even later and will be launched in the second half of the year or next year.

Xiaomi will generally debut Sony's new camera sensor. The blogger previously hinted that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will debut at the end of Q2, which is probably a June release. The Xiaomi Mi MIX FOLD 2 folding screen phone is also expected to be released at the same time as the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, and imaging will remain the focus of both models.

However, there are rumors that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be equipped with Sony IMX8 series sensors. Then the IMX989 should only be used in the Xiaomi Mi MIX FOLD 2, the image flagship is very worth looking forward to, I believe that by then will continue to dominate the DXO.

In the current mainstream flagship market, equipped with Sony IMX766 sensor phones have a good performance, their image aspects have left a deep impression on users.
